Description
THIS IS A CUSTOM BUILD TO ORDER ASSEMBLY. INTENDED FOR VARIOUS 2002+ (era) GM 2500/3500 DIESEL TRUCKS THAT ORIGINALLY HAD AN ALUMINUM REAR DRIVESHAFT MADE BY AAM. THIS KIT INCLUDES A 1485 SERIES DIFFERENTIAL END YOKE AND STRAP KIT FOR AAM 10.5″/11.5″ REAR AXLES. FEATURES: 1485 SERIES AAM HD “SOLID” UNIVERSAL JOINTS, 30/31 SPLINE NICKEL PLATED TRANSFER CASE SLIP YOKE, 5″dia X .125″thick HD ALUMINUM TUBING, SONNAX HD MACHINED ALUMINUM TUBE WELD YOKES, BALANCED ASSEMBLY.
TECH TIP: IF YOUR MODEL WAS EQUIPPED WITH A 2pc DRIVESHAFT WITH CARRIER BEARING – THE MOUNTING BRACKET MAY NEED TO BE REMOVED FOR CLEARANCE. OEM (early Spicer & later AAM) DESIGNED A 2pc SHAFT AND AS SUCH THIS 1pc REPLACEMENT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED AGAINST VIBRATION. HOWEVER, THE DRIVESHAFT BALANCING/WORKMANSHIP AND PARTS ARE ALL COVERED UNDER NORMAL USE.
TECH TIP: DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF LIFT THE VEHICLE HAS – THE NEW 1485 DIFFERENTIAL END YOKE MAY NEED TO BE MACHINED SLIGHTLY TO ALLOW BETTER CLEARANCE WHERE THE DRIVESHAFT TUBE YOKE IS LOCATED (the stock 1410 end yoke has more clearance in this area -call for more details.)
