Description
THIS IS A NEW, COMPLETE HEAVY DUTY DRIVESHAFT ASSEMBLY FOR VARIOUS 1965-1967era FORD MUSTANG MODELS WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (not all apply). COMPLETE ASSEMBLY INCLUDES: SPICER H.D. “SOLID” STYLE – COMMON SIZED, EASY TO FIND UNIVERSAL JOINTS, 27/28 SPLINE TRANSMISSION SLIP YOKE, HEAVY DUTY 3″diameter X .083″wall STEEL TUBING, PRECISION BALANCED AND READY TO INSTALL.
TECH TIP: THE OEM DRIVESHAFT USES HARD TO FIND UNIVERSAL JOINTS, ALSO IMPORTANT TO CONIRM YOUR REAR UNIVERSAL JOINT SPECS BEFORE ORDERING THIS ASSEMBLY. THE STOCK OEM DRIVESHAFT HAS A SLIP YOKE THAT IS 8″ LONG WITH A DEEP INTERNALLY COUNTERBORED SPLINES – OURS WILL NOT – WHICH RESULTS IN A 2″ SHORTER DRIVESHAFT IF MEASURED FROM END TO END ( WORKING LENGTH WILL STILL BE CORRECT ). OEM SHAFT IS ONLY 2.75″ x .065″ STEEL TUBING – OURS WILL USE 3″ x .083″.
